English 2010 Intermediate Writing
Learning in class 2010
My proposal essay was easy for me to write. The proposal went more fluent then the report. I think it was because it is easier to write about what I think than about what others think. Another thing that was able to make my essay go smooth is that I remembered the 1010 class. Remembering the past class helps me to stay on the right path and put to work what I have learned. I find it very helpful too that my instructor in this class writes comments and points out my mistakes on my drafts and in my final papers.
Even though my subject on immigration didn’t affect me directly, it did for many people that I know. I felt that it was very important to write about because it is a national problem for this country. Although my proposals had important facts on the subject I don’t think that it is the right solution for the illegal immigration overpopulation. In my search to find the bibliographies I learned more about immigration and being Hispanic makes it more important for me to know about this subject. I even learned more about the government and the way they lead this country. Many of the sources that I find back up my proposal, but in a different way. I was able to use them anyway because most of them evaluate the problem. It was hard to find a source that expressed what I was looking for, because the authors of my bibliographies had other solutions or they simply just cover the problem. Every time I do a paper I learn more. Specifically in this paper I learned to introduce the sources better in my essay. Using the quotes and being able to comment first about them was something new for me. Backing up my statement with quotes was very helpful and sometimes they even aided me to stay on track on what my paper is about. Even now every time I read something I recognize better when the author is introducing sources and talking about it, therefore I can use this knowledge in my everyday reading.
Working hard is something that I am used to doing. As a full time mother of three girls, a wife and a student it is not easy for me to keep up with the other students doing homework or attending class. It is a challenge for me even more because English is not my first language and writing is more difficult then talking. I know that there are many people that are doing the same as I do and that makes me put more effort to do many things at once. More importantly I want to be an example for my daughters.
Position/Proposal
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (Which illegal immigrant deserves to be in the U.S.?)
Nothing will stop the illegals. Even though the government tries to reinforce the border between the U.S and Mexico, and has introduced laws against illegals, and has conducted raids, they will NOT GO or stop coming. For illegals, this is the place, the country of opportunities, and they will hold on to it for as long as they can, or until the United States REALLY decides to send them back from wherever they came. Obviously, the decision belongs to the government: either they face it and explain the use of these immigrants to the country or they let go of the cheap labor and put to work all the people who are dependent on welfare or any other government aid to make up for the under-paid labor.

Who’s To Blame For The Inconvenience? (Who let the back door open to the illegal immigrants?)
“There are 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. and roughly 80 percent of the undocumented are Hispanic” (Nadler). There are many theories about the facts and consequences concerning the effect that illegal immigrants have in this country. Many would say that the solution is to take away social service rights, while others would argue that it is against constitutional rights, and some others would claim that they don’t even have any constitutional rights for being illegal criminals. Various assumptions would recognize that illegal immigrants in fact help the economy and some others would state the contrary. What is right? What is wrong?

8 COW WIFE
Like many immigrant children in the US, I was brought here when I was a teenager. Many people immigrate to have a better life or to provide for the family they left behind in their county, but my family and I came here for a different reason. The state in Mexico where I am from is located just south of Texas; the state is called Nuevo Leon and is recognized by Mexico to be the most productive and industrialized state of the country. There was no reason for me and my family to move anywhere, but then tragedy struck us.
